The Problem
Rise Gardens is an indoor hydroponic gardening startup with a mission to connect people to the food they eat by inspiring them to grow food that they are proud of and can enjoy with family and friends. They value connecting families with nature and loved ones, teaching the next generation the value of nutritious food and delighting our customers.
The gardening tech startup was looking to expand to non-edible plants for the first time in the company’s history by launching a plant shelf accessory to attach to their smart gardens.
The Strategy
As the communications and social media director for the company, Jamie developed and executed a strategic plan to launch the plant shelf in partnership with The Sill, a DTC houseplant company utilizing digital marketing channels including email marketing and social media. The lifestyle campaign leaned into an “urban oasis” theme.
The Result
With over 350,000 impressions and 5,000 new email subscribers for both companies, the plant shelf made its debut by selling out over half of the inventory in its first week and becoming a staple in the company’s inventory. In the year following the campaign, the company has scaled its non-edible product line.
